GRAFEEX pencils: The material of the future in the hands of Italian craftsmanship

heading_title

One aspect of Pininfarina's vision in creating the Pininfarina Segno writing instrument collection is to open up new perspectives in this sector by overcoming the conceptual limitations imposed by the traditional representation of the pencil, which has remained virtually unchanged for more than two hundred years since Nicolas-Jacques Conté's patent.

An exceptional example of a real step forward in this sense is the GRAFEEX pencils.

These writing instruments are not simply a luxury version of the traditional pencil, although at first glance, they may remind some people of a sophisticated technical pencil.

GRAFEEX pencils have tips made of an innovative material obtained through a revolutionary process of processing individual graphite particles. This new generation of graphite changes the concept of the pencil, overcoming its limitations while retaining the desired recognizable characteristics.

What is written with GRAFEEX can be erased with an eraser, but the tip of this pencil does not need to be sharpened and lasts an extremely long time. The idea behind the innovation is to enable artists and other professionals whose work involves writing and sketching to work without obstacles such as tip breakage or dulling, without sacrificing precision, durability, and ergonomics.

Replacing the GRAFEEX tip should be considered after writing a track with a total length of about fifteen kilometers. Replacement is very simple, involving the installation of a new tip after unwinding the old one.

Typical of Pininfarina, this innovation is equipped with all the necessary features to create a top-of-the-line product in terms of design, technology, materials, and use.

Thus, the GRAFEEX tip is placed on an aluminum body, designed to be minimalist but perfectly ergonomic and with an exceptional attention to detail. One of these details is the clips, in vivid colors that contrast with the matte black aluminum body.

In addition, GRAFEEX pencils come in elegant, hand-stitched sleeves made from recycled leather.

"The GRAFEEX idea means rethinking the traditional pencil. We wanted to offer consumers precision and durability without compromising on the writing experience. GRAFEEX is a bridge between Italian craftsmanship and the innovative material of the future," says Pininfarina Segno.
