One of the most recognizable features of the Pininfarina Segno collection is the patented material Ethergraf, the metal alloy inspired by the silver pencil used by Leonardo da Vinci. Pininfarina Segno styluses with Ethergraf tips write by microscopically “scratching” the paper they oxidize, leaving a trace like graphite but as permanent as if it were written in ink. Ethergraf tips are virtually indestructible, which means they can write indefinitely. These styluses, as their creators say, do not aim to replace the usual writing tools, but to go further, beyond the concept of functionality, becoming perfectly designed tools ready to meet the needs of those who always have something to say and express.

The body of the stylus is made of aluminum, with inserts of walnut wood, which is also the material of the Pininfarina Cambiano box, with a built-in holder function that places the instrument in the position of an ancient writing tool.
In the luxury version of the model, the aluminum part of the body is coated with gold (0.30 microns), and for classic pen-writing enthusiasts turned Pininfarina Cambiano fans, this instrument has also received an ink version.
