Pininfarina PF TWO: Maserati experience in moving the thought to the finish line

Few names can boast of sounding as respectable in the world of automotive design as Pininfarina, the 90+-year-old company that has created some of the most iconic cars in history. In this history of shaping the visual identity of many legendary automotive brands, the collaboration, which has been given the status of an alliance between Pininfarina and the luxury brand whose trademark is the iconic trident, Maserati, occupies a special place.
The reason the Maserati brothers first turned to Pininfarina 75 years ago (in 1947) was the desire to valorize their three decades of sporting achievement by creating a high performance touring cars. The result was the first Maserati that came off the production line, the A6 1500 Coupé, designed by Pininfarina.
From this beautiful Maserati A6 1500 (only 60 examples were produced between 1947 and 1951, some of them convertibles), the A6G 2000 version was developed (which is still remembered today as a masterpiece ahead of its time), and in 1953 there was also the A6 GCS…

The new phase of the historic collaboration between Pininfarina and Maserati, which is more appropriately called synergy, began in 2003 with Pininfarina’s new vision for the Quattroporte, the important element in Maserati production since 1963. The momentum marked a key step in the trident brand impressive revival.
In 2005, the Birdcage 75th (dubbed “the renaissance of automotive design”) was also unveiled, with which Pininfarina and Maserati revived the myth of the dream car through a synthesis of the two companies’ visions. It is a high-tech sculpture that evokes future contexts, imaginary but possible, without deviating from the recognizability of what Maserati essentially is.
In 2007, the Maserati GranTurismo was introduced as the next chapter of the collaboration; a car that is an ingenious fusion of soft, fluid sculpture, with sharp, angular detailing; the most extreme manifestation of luxury on four wheels.
Already in 2009, the new GranCabrio convertible debuted, completing the Maserati range with three model families – limousine, coupe, and convertible, all designed by Pininfarina: the Quattroporte, GranTurismo, and GranCabrio…

This alliance, built on the traditionally shared values between Maserati and Pininfarina, stemming from the imperatives of the vocation for excellence that distinguishes both brands, is certainly continued in the new project of the world’s leading design house, the Pininfarina Segno collection of writing instruments.
If Maserati boldly and truthfully says: “We exist to move those who move the world”, Pininfarina Segno’s answer begins with the question: What should be the writing instrument that will offer real Maserati experience of giving life to human thought; in its movement from mind and heart to paper… and beyond?
And probably no one doubts Pininfarina’s ability to extract the essence of the brand it designs for in an aesthetic-functional concept that touches the limit of the possible.
Among the Maserati-inspired Pininfarina Segno writing instruments, the Pininfarina PF TWO Maserati pen is a prime example.
The prestige of this object and its powerful stylistic identity are evident at first glance at the midnight blue body, on which the iconic trident fits perfectly. Already the tactile experience gives an idea of its lightness, ergonomics, and impeccable details achieved with micromechanical manufacturing in aluminum.
They expected no less from Maserati: not another pen adorned with a trident, but a true Maserati experience in the movement of thought, towards the medium, towards the finish line…
